Jammu, March 22, 2026 -Manoj Sinha on Sunday flagged off the 24th edition of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Pracheen Marg Pavitra Chhari Yatra from the historic Kol Kandoli Temple in Nagrota, marking the beginning of the revered spiritual journey.
The Lieutenant Governor participated in the ‘Pratham Pooja’ of the Chhari Yatra, symbolizing the ceremonial commencement of the pilgrimage. He offered prayers at the shrine and sought blessings for peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people.
Interacting with devotees on the occasion, the LG extended his warm greetings and highlighted the spiritual significance of the yatra, which follows the ancient heritage route associated with Mata Vaishno Devi.
Carrying the sacred Holy Jyot, the yatra commenced along the traditional path and is set to culminate at the Oli Mata Temple, reinforcing the cultural and religious legacy of the region.
Among those present at the flag-off ceremony were Devyani Rana, members of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Pracheen Marg Shrines Sanstha, senior officials, prominent citizens, and a large number of devotees who gathered to witness the auspicious start of the yatra.
The annual Chhari Yatra holds immense religious importance and continues to attract devotees from across the country, preserving the traditional pilgrimage route and spiritual heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
