Fresh snowfall revives tourism, boosts farm hopes in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, March 21,2026- Fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Bhaderwah Valley has lifted spirits across the region, bringing much-needed relief after a prolonged dry spell. While the plains experienced rainfall, the upper reaches were blanketed in snow, significantly reducing the rainfall deficit and easing concerns among farmers and fruit growers.

The timely precipitation is expected to benefit agricultural activities, particularly horticulture, which forms a vital part of the local economy. Farmers expressed optimism that the improved moisture levels will support better crop yield in the coming season.

At the same time, the snowfall has added to the scenic charm of the valley, raising hopes for a surge in tourist footfall. Popular destinations such as Jaie, Padri Pass, Bhal Padri, and Subar Dhar are likely to attract visitors seeking picturesque landscapes and late-winter experiences.

Local stakeholders in the tourism sector believe the fresh spell of snow will help extend the tourist season, providing a boost to hotels, transport services, and small businesses dependent on visitor inflow.

With nature offering a timely respite, Bhaderwah is once again poised to witness renewed activity in both agriculture and tourism, reinforcing its reputation as one of Jammu & Kashmir’s scenic and economically significant regions.
