Samba,March 18,2026 -Extending warm greetings to devotees ahead of the auspicious festival of Navratras, Pandit Bansi Lal in Samba announced that the शुभ मुहूर्त for the commencement of rituals will begin after 6:40 AM on Thursday, March 19.
“Heartiest greetings to all devotees on the upcoming Navratras, starting from Thursday, March 19. I want to inform you that after 6:40 AM on Thursday, March 19, the auspicious muhurat begins,” he said.
Navratras, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga, is one of the most revered Hindu festivals and is observed with immense devotion across Jammu and Kashmir. The festival begins with Ghatasthapana (Kalash Sthapana), marking the invocation of the Goddess, followed by nine days of fasting, prayers, and spiritual observances.
Devotees Gear Up for Festival
Preparations are underway in temples and households, with devotees arranging पूजा सामग्री, cleaning homes, and planning fasting rituals. Markets are also witnessing increased footfall as people purchase essentials for the festival.
Pandit Bansi Lal advised devotees to adhere to the prescribed muhurat for performing rituals to ensure auspiciousness and spiritual benefits.
The nine-day festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and is expected to be celebrated with great fervour and devotion across the region.
