Srinagar, March 18,2026- Young talent from Jammu and Kashmir made a strong mark at the IndiaSkills 2025–26 Regional Competition (North), with participants showcasing exceptional craftsmanship in the bricklaying skill category.

Jasir Bhat from Jammu and Kashmir clinched the gold medal, demonstrating precision, speed, and technical excellence in bricklaying. His outstanding performance placed him at the top among competitors from across northern states.

Saurabh Kumar from Himachal Pradesh secured the silver medal, putting up a commendable performance and reflecting the growing skill base among youth in the region. Meanwhile, Kifayat Yousuf, also from Jammu and Kashmir, earned the bronze medal, further highlighting the Union Territory’s strong presence in vocational skills competitions.

The IndiaSkills Regional Competition serves as a platform to identify and nurture skilled youth, preparing them for national and international contests, including the WorldSkills Competition. The bricklaying category tests participants on accuracy, design execution, time management, and adherence to construction standards.

Officials and industry experts praised the winners for their dedication and craftsmanship, noting that such achievements underline the importance of skill development initiatives in empowering youth and enhancing employability.

The success of Jasir Bhat and Kifayat Yousuf reflects the growing focus on vocational training and skill excellence in Jammu and Kashmir, inspiring more young individuals to pursue careers in skilled trades.
