Chhadi Yatra begins in Jammu, heads to Purmandal

Jammu March 17,2026- On the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Chaturdashi, the 32nd annual Chhadi Yatra commenced With great religious fervour from Ranveereshwar Templefervour from Ranveereshwar Temple, drawing devotees and spiritual leaders from across the region.

The sacred procession passed through prominent धार्मिक landmarks including Raghunath Temple and Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple, before proceeding towards the revered town of Purmandal, also known as “Chhota Kashi,” situated along the holy Devika River.

The yatra is being led by Mahant Gambhir Dev Singh, accompanied by a large number of sadhus and devotees, reflecting deep-rooted faith and centuries-old spiritual traditions. Devotees participated with enthusiasm, chanting hymns and carrying the sacred ‘Chhadi’ (holy mace), symbolising devotion and divine blessings.

The Chhadi Yatra holds immense religious significance, especially during the holy period of Chaitra, and is considered a sacred journey that connects devotees with the spiritual essence of the region. The procession not only highlights Jammu’s rich cultural and religious heritage but also strengthens communal harmony and collective faith.

Local authorities have made adequate arrangements to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the yatra, with security and basic facilities in place for the pilgrims.

As the yatra progresses towards Purmandal, devotees expressed hope for peace, prosperity, and well-being, reaffirming their spiritual bond with the sacred land.
