J&K: Doda Social Welfare Department Extends Women Schemes Pension, Marriage Aid to Thousands There are different types of schemes for women lik Pension Scheme given to widows and to handicapped people. Scholarships are given whether it is a SC category or OBC category. Then there is Marriage Assistance Scheme where a girl gets money before marriage, said Zubair Ahmed, District Social Welfare Officer in Doda, Jammu & Kashmir. Likewise, our District Hub for Empowerment Unit does handholding of females. And different departments and allied Departments like Mission Yuva proviides loans so that these women can be self reliant. Till now, we provide 37,000 as pension whether for old age, widowhood or handicapped pension or transgender pension. Likewise, more than 5,000 beneficiaries have been provided assistance for their marriages. Apart from this, motorised tricycles have been provided to physically handicapped people whose disability is 40% and above including vision, hearing andmental. These people get free of cost motorised tricycles after registration, said the District Social Welfare Officer in Doda, J&K.
