Udhampur Marks Women’s Day with Mission Shakti, Highlights Support for Girls from Birth to Success The Department of Social Welfare Udhampur celebrtaed ‘Mission Shakti’ on International Women’s Day, March 8, honouring the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ Scheme, said Kanika Gupta, DSWO, Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir. We are felicitating the mothers of all the girls born today in GMC ward. We are assuring them that from the birth of the child to the child’s education, job, married life, in fact, we are with them everywhere and are also with the mothers. If the mothers need any kind of support, nutrition, medicine etc., the department will always be with them, said DSWO Udhampur. A short and impactful message came from DC Udhampur Minga Sherpa that t it is not a women’s programme, it is an urban programme. All the women in our lives, whether they are in our family, whether they are our parents, mothers or sisters, whether they are at home or in the workplace, we have to respect them all and ensure that we give them what is in our policy, said Minga Sherpa DC Udhampur.
