Srinagar, March 15,2026- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday launched an e-ticketing system for gardens across Jammu and Kashmir, marking a major step towards digital governance and improved tourist management at popular tourist destinations in the Union Territory.
The new digital ticketing facility will allow visitors to conveniently book entry tickets online for several heritage and public gardens, reducing long queues at ticket counters and ensuring a smoother experience for tourists and locals alike.
Speaking at the launch, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of blending technology with tourism infrastructure to enhance visitor convenience and transparency in ticketing systems. He said the initiative will help streamline tourist footfall management while promoting the natural and cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the event, the Chief Minister also visited Badamwari Garden in Srinagar, where almond blossoms have begun attracting visitors from across the region. Describing the historic garden as a symbol of the Valley’s rich cultural traditions, he said, “Badamwari reflects the cultural vibrancy of Kashmir and represents the deep connection between nature, heritage, and the people of the Valley.”
Badamwari, known for its spectacular almond bloom every spring, has become a major seasonal attraction for tourists and locals. The government has been taking steps to promote such heritage sites to boost tourism and preserve the Valley’s cultural identity.
Officials said the introduction of the e-ticketing system will gradually be expanded to cover more gardens and tourist spots across the Union Territory, further strengthening tourism infrastructure and improving visitor management.
The initiative is expected to support the growing tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir while ensuring better services for visitors at some of the region’s most scenic and historically significant gardens.
