Bandipora, March 11,2026 Fresh snowfall continued on Wednesday across the higher reaches of Bandipora district, including Gurez, Tulail, Bagtore, and Kanzalwan, according to local officials. The heavy snow has disrupted normal life and posed challenges for commuters in these areas.
The 85-km-long Bandipora–Gurez road remains closed for the second consecutive day due to accumulation of snow and slippery conditions. Authorities have urged travellers to avoid non-essential travel until the road is cleared.
Local residents reported picturesque snow-covered landscapes, but also highlighted difficulties in movement and daily activities. The district administration has deployed snow clearance teams and is monitoring weather conditions closely.
Officials advised residents to remain cautious in the coming days as more snow is expected in the higher reaches of Bandipora and Gurez.
