Rajouri, March 11,2026- In a significant step towards promoting girls’ education and empowerment, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma inaugurated free coaching classes for girls under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme in Rajouri district.

The initiative aims to support young girls from remote and aspirational areas by providing them with quality academic guidance and better opportunities for educational advancement. Around 100 girls from the aspirational blocks of Koteranka and Khawas have been enrolled in the programme and will receive free coaching for a period of three months.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Rajouri highlighted the importance of empowering girls through education and skill development. He stated that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative is not only focused on improving the child sex ratio but also on ensuring that girls receive equal access to education and opportunities to build a better future.

Officials said that the free coaching classes will help the participating students strengthen their academic foundation and prepare for competitive examinations and higher studies. The programme will provide structured guidance, mentorship and learning support to help the girls excel in their studies.

The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the students and encouraged them to take full advantage of the coaching facility. He urged them to remain focused on their goals and become role models for other girls in their communities.

The initiative has been welcomed by local residents and parents, who expressed gratitude to the district administration for extending such opportunities to girls from far-flung areas.

The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, launched by the Government of India, focuses on improving the status of girls in society through education, awareness and empowerment initiatives. The programme in Rajouri is expected to play an important role in encouraging girls from rural areas to pursue their academic ambitions and contribute positively to society.
