Reasi, March 7,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday inaugurated the infrastructure upgradation and beautification works at the revered shrine of Shiv Khori Shrine, describing the development as a major step towards revitalising the region’s ancient spiritual heritage and improving facilities for devotees.

Addressing the gathering, LG Manoj Sinha said that the infrastructure upgrade at the holy cave shrine signifies a renewed commitment to preserving the sacred sites that form the backbone of India’s ancient traditions. He emphasised that the initiative reflects the fulfillment of long-cherished aspirations of generations of devotees and ancestors who wished to see these spiritual centers restored and developed.

“The infrastructure upgradation of Shiv Khori is an announcement that the holy shrines of our ancient tradition are being reawakened and restored to life. Today, devotees’ perseverance bears fruit and we have fulfilled the vibrant dreams of our ancestors who longed for this transformation,” LG Manoj Sinha said.

The project includes beautification of the shrine area, improved pathways, enhanced visitor amenities, and upgraded infrastructure to ensure a better and more comfortable pilgrimage experience for thousands of devotees visiting the sacred cave every year.

The development works were carried out by JSW Group under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and Managing Director of the group, Sajjan Jindal, for supporting the historic project.

LG Manoj Sinha described the initiative as not just an infrastructure project but a meaningful contribution toward safeguarding humanity’s shared cultural and spiritual heritage.

“I thank Sajjan Jindal Ji and the JSW Group for this historic endeavor. I see this initiative as a profound act of kindness for humanity’s shared heritage,” he said.

Located in the scenic hills of the Reasi district, the Shiv Khori cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva attracts thousands of pilgrims each year and is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said the upgraded infrastructure and beautification works will significantly enhance the pilgrimage experience while also promoting religious tourism and local economic development in the region.

The inauguration marks another step in the administration’s broader vision to preserve heritage sites, strengthen spiritual tourism, and provide modern facilities while maintaining the sanctity of ancient shrines.
