Reasi launches Poshan 2.0 to combat child malnutrition

Reasi, March 5,2026-In a significant step toward improving maternal and child health, Reasi district has launched Poshan 2.0 under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). The initiative aims to tackle child malnutrition, enhance the health of women and young mothers, and strengthen community nutrition services across the district.

A new nutrition centre in Arnas has been set up to provide nutritional support, awareness programs, and counselling, along with efforts to strengthen Anganwadi outreach. The centre will serve as a hub for educating mothers on balanced diets, child nutrition, and health practices, ensuring that the benefits of the program reach the most vulnerable sections of society.

Officials highlighted that Poshan 2.0 aligns with national efforts to improve maternal and child health, reduce malnutrition rates, and support community-based interventions through Anganwadi workers and local health functionaries. The program also emphasizes nutritional counseling, health monitoring, and early intervention, which are crucial for the development of children and the well-being of women in the district.

The launch reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening government health initiatives, promoting nutritional awareness, and empowering mothers to contribute to the overall health of their families.
