Kashmir, March 5,2026-Ambika Raina, born in Srinagar and raised in a family with strong ties to the Indian Army, has become an inspiring example of determination and commitment to public service.
Coming from an Army background, with her father serving as a Major General, Ambika spent her early years moving across different places before completing her graduation. After finishing her studies, she secured a high-paying job in Switzerland, a dream opportunity that many young professionals aspire to achieve.
However, despite the comfort and prospects of an international career, Ambika had a different dream — to serve the nation as a civil servant. Determined to pursue this goal, she made the bold decision to leave her lucrative job abroad and return to India to prepare for the highly competitive Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination.
Her journey was not easy. Ambika faced setbacks and failed the exam twice, but she remained focused and continued her preparation with resilience and determination.
Her perseverance finally paid off in 2022, when she successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination with an All India Rank (AIR) 164. She was subsequently allotted the prestigious Indian Audit and Accounts Service.
Today, Ambika Raina serves the nation as a civil servant, representing a story of courage, sacrifice, and dedication. Her journey reflects a powerful message — while many people move abroad in search of better opportunities, there are also those who choose to return and contribute to building a stronger India.
