Kathua, March 2,2026- Women’s Week commenced with vibrant celebrations across Kathua district, led by the District Administration to promote women empowerment and gender equality.
The week-long festivities were formally inaugurated at Government Degree College for Women Kathua, where Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma launched the anthem of the flagship initiative Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), marking a spirited beginning to the celebrations.
Addressing students and faculty, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of education, awareness, and community participation in strengthening the role of women in society. He highlighted that Women’s Week serves as a platform to celebrate achievements, encourage leadership, and reinforce the district’s commitment to inclusive growth.
The programme featured cultural performances, awareness sessions, and interactive activities aimed at inspiring young women to pursue academic excellence and leadership roles.
