Remote Basholi village connected by road after 50 years

Basholi, March 2,2026- In a landmark development, a 3-kilometer road project has finally connected the remote village of Basholi to the main road network after five decades, bringing new hope and opportunities to the residents. The project, executed at a cost of Rs 5 crore, was completed under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with support from Union Minister Jitendra Singh and the J&K Government.

For generations, villagers in Basholi faced severe hardships due to lack of proper connectivity, making travel for education, healthcare, and daily needs extremely challenging. Women and schoolchildren, in particular, struggled to access schools, hospitals, and markets. The new road is expected to ease daily life, enhance economic activities, and improve access to essential services.

Residents have expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government, highlighting the road as a transformative step that promises better education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. Local authorities have emphasized that this development reflects the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure in remote and underdeveloped areas of Jammu & Kashmir.

The road project not only represents an important milestone in regional development but also strengthens the overall transport network in Kathua district, ensuring seamless connectivity for future growth and social development.
