Kashmir, March 2,2026-Under the J&K Special Project, vibrant Mahila Sabhas and Gram Sabhas were successfully conducted across 285 Community Development (CD) Blocks and Gram Panchayats. The initiative aimed at preparing high-quality Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs), ensuring participatory planning and community engagement.
The meetings witnessed active participation from local women, community leaders, and Panchayat members, focusing on prioritising developmental needs, identifying resources, and strengthening governance at the grassroots level. Special emphasis was laid on empowering women through Mahila Sabhas, enabling them to play a proactive role in local planning and decision-making.
These efforts are part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality and effectiveness of GPDPs in Jammu and Kashmir, fostering inclusive development and ensuring that local aspirations are integrated into Panchayat-level planning.
