Pashmina Conclave in Leh brings together designers, weavers, and herders

Kashmir, February 25,2026- The Pashmina Conclave is being convened in Leh, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders to discuss the future of Ladakh’s prized Pashmina industry. Participants include designers from Delhi and Ladakh, local weavers and yarn makers, and the herders of the famed Changthangi Pashmina goat, whose fine wool forms the backbone of the region’s world-renowned craft.

The conclave aims to explore value addition, quality enhancement, and market opportunities for Ladakh’s Pashmina products, while ensuring that the livelihoods of herders and artisans are protected and strengthened. Discussions will also focus on sustainable practices, traditional techniques, and innovative design integration, ensuring that the heritage craft remains competitive in national and international markets.

By fostering collaboration between designers, artisans, and herders, the conclave seeks to revitalise Ladakh’s Pashmina sector, creating opportunities for income growth, skill development, and cultural preservation.
