2 Para SF K9 Tyson injured, 3 terrorists eliminated in J&K

Kashmir, February 25,2026-In a daring counter-terrorism operation in Jammu & Kashmir, Tyson, a highly trained K9 of 2 Para Special Forces, displayed extraordinary courage while leading the assault on a terrorist hideout.

During the high-risk operation conducted in hostile terrain and challenging weather conditions, Tyson was the first to charge into the hideout. In the line of duty, the elite German Shepherd sustained a bullet injury but continued the mission without hesitation. The operation resulted in the neutralisation of three terrorists, including Saifullah.

Tyson was trained at the prestigious Dog Breeding and Training School (DBTS) of the Central Reserve Police Force located in Taralu, Karnataka, from 7 February 2022 to 22 December 2022. The institution is renowned for producing world-class K9 commandos trained in explosive detection, tracking, and assault support.

Following the encounter, Tyson was airlifted for advanced medical care and is currently reported to be stable.

The successful operation highlights the bravery and professionalism of the soldiers of 2 Para SF and their K9 unit. Commendations poured in from Additional Directorate General of Public Information and White Knight Corps, acknowledging the valour displayed by the troops.

Tyson’s courage stands as a testament to the dedication, training, and indomitable spirit of India’s armed forces and their canine warriors.
