Samba, February 25,2026: Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan inaugurated kiosks set up for Women Self-Help Groups under the flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative at the revered Chichi Mata Temple, aiming to promote income generation and sustainable livelihoods for women in the district.
The initiative seeks to provide a dedicated platform to women entrepreneurs to showcase and sell locally produced goods, including handicrafts, traditional items, and self-made products, thereby enhancing financial independence and economic participation.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized that empowering women through livelihood opportunities is central to inclusive development. She highlighted that such initiatives not only strengthen women’s economic self-reliance but also align with the broader objectives of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme — promoting education, protection, and empowerment of the girl child.
Officials from the district administration and representatives of various Self-Help Groups were present during the inauguration ceremony. The kiosks, strategically located at the temple premises, are expected to witness steady footfall from devotees and visitors, offering SHG members improved market access.
The move is seen as a significant step toward strengthening women-led entrepreneurship, promoting local products, and fostering sustainable economic growth at the grassroots level in Samba district.
