The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha presented the Gallantry Awards and Distinguished Service Decorations to the J&K police force at the Police Investiture Ceremony 2023 held at Raj Bhawan in Jammu and Kashmir. During the ceremony, 218 medals were conferred by the Lieutenant Governor on the police personnel. The President’s Police Medal for Gallantry was awarded posthumously to Constable Imtiyaz Ahmad who had attained martyrdom in 2019 during a terrorist attack at SoG camp, Pulwama. The LG said that the nation is indebted to the bravehearts who served the nation and its citizens till their last breath.
