Jammu, February 2026- Emphasising the transformative power of young minds, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that the youth of India are not watching the future unfold from the sidelines but are actively shaping it through innovation, research, and entrepreneurship.
He made these remarks while attending the valedictory function of Innovathon 1.0, a 48-hour national-level hackathon organised by the University of Jammu to promote innovation and encourage the development of technology-driven solutions.
Addressing students, innovators, and faculty members, the Lieutenant Governor said that pathbreaking innovations, fresh ideas, and cutting-edge research have the potential to alter the nation’s destiny. He praised the participants for their dedication, creativity, and problem-solving abilities demonstrated during the intensive two-day event.
Innovathon 1.0 brought together young innovators from across the country who worked collaboratively to design practical solutions to real-world challenges. The initiative aimed to strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset among students and provide them with a platform to convert ideas into impactful solutions.
LG Manoj Sinha highlighted that such hackathons play a crucial role in building a robust innovation ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir and across India. He underscored the importance of research-driven development, startup culture, and skill enhancement in accelerating economic growth and employment generation.
The Lieutenant Governor also encouraged educational institutions to continuously organise innovation-driven programs that empower youth to become job creators rather than job seekers. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs and fostering a culture of creativity and technological advancement.
Innovathon 1.0 marks another significant step towards nurturing innovation, strengthening entrepreneurship, and positioning the youth of India as key drivers of national progress.
