Uri, February 14,2026-From Silence to Strength – A Testament of Courage and Survival was organised by the JkSYSF Foundation at Government Degree College Uri on February 13, 2026, bringing together nearly 100 families affected by terrorism from Uri and Baramulla.
The programme provided a dignified and empathetic platform to victims who have remained unheard for over three decades, enabling them to share their painful experiences and long-pending grievances. Families affected by terrorism and cross-border shelling narrated their ordeals, highlighting the urgent need for recognition, justice and institutional support.
Organisers said that several long-pending cases, including those concerning victims and families impacted by cross-border shelling, were systematically documented for structured follow-up with the concerned authorities. The initiative aimed at ensuring that genuine cases are addressed in a transparent and time-bound manner.
The event was led by Chairman of JkSYSF Foundation, Shri Wajahat Farooq Bhat, who reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to sustained advocacy and documentation of terrorism victims’ issues. He stressed that justice must be delivered with dignity and empathy.
Chief Guest Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi assured participants that the District Administration would prioritise and resolve genuine cases in a time-bound manner. He emphasised that the administration stands committed to supporting real victims of terrorism and ensuring their concerns are addressed effectively.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge for continued documentation, sustained advocacy and coordinated efforts to secure justice with dignity for the affected families. Participants described the initiative as a significant step towards healing, recognition and long-overdue institutional response.
