Kashmir, February 11,2026: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has emphasised that the ‘Agriculture First’ policy will play a crucial role in building a Developed India and an Aatmanirbhar Jammu & Kashmir, asserting that agriculture and allied sectors remain the backbone of economic stability and prosperity.
Addressing scientists and officers, the LG highlighted that despite relentless challenges — from climate change to global economic uncertainty — one truth remains unshaken: agriculture and allied sectors continue to ensure stability and safeguard citizens’ prosperity.
He stressed that policymakers, agricultural scientists, and field officers must recognize that “civilization’s fate hangs on every seed sown in the soil,” underlining the transformative power of farming and rural development. According to LG Manoj Sinha, agriculture is one of the key sectors driving national advancement and human welfare, and it will continue to guarantee progress regardless of global turbulence.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the administration’s commitment to strengthening J&K’s agriculture sector, promoting innovation, enhancing farmer welfare, and boosting sustainable agricultural practices to secure long-term economic growth.
