Kashmir,January 28,2026-The government has released ₹15.68 crore under the Samagra Shiksha scheme to strengthen sports and physical education infrastructure in schools. The funding aims to promote physical fitness, sports culture, and the overall development of students across educational institutions.
Under the initiative, schools will receive financial assistance for the procurement of sports equipment and the development of facilities to encourage regular physical activity among students. The move is part of broader efforts to integrate sports and physical education into the school curriculum.
Officials said the allocation would help improve access to quality sports resources, particularly in government and government-aided schools, and support students’ physical, mental, and social well-being. Emphasis is being placed on nurturing discipline, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles from an early age.
