Jammu, January 28, 2026:The Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM) is all set to organize an expansive edition of Saras Mela 2026 at Kala Kendra, Jammu, from January 31 to February 9, 2026. The event aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and livelihood initiatives of rural Jammu and Kashmir.
Saras Mela will serve as a vibrant platform for Self Help Groups (SHGs), artisans, and rural entrepreneurs to exhibit and market their products, thereby strengthening rural livelihoods and promoting economic self-reliance. The fair will feature a wide range of handmade products, including traditional handicrafts, handloom items, organic foods, and locally produced goods.
Organised under the aegis of JKRLM, the event will also highlight the success stories of women-led enterprises and community-based organizations that have emerged through sustained livelihood interventions across the Union Territory.
In addition to product exhibitions, Saras Mela 2026 will host cultural performances, folk music, and thematic stalls reflecting the diverse traditions of Jammu and Kashmir. Visitors will also get an opportunity to interact directly with artisans and SHG members, fostering greater awareness about rural development initiatives.
Officials said that Saras Mela is expected to attract a large number of visitors and buyers, providing significant market exposure to rural producers while encouraging the use of indigenous products.
