Srinagar , January 26,2026-: On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha unfurled the national flag at the Maulana Azad Stadium, Srinagar, marking the start of the official celebrations in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, armed forces personnel, NCC cadets, and local citizens, reflecting the spirit of patriotism and unity. The LG praised the contributions of security forces, government officials, and citizens in maintaining peace, promoting development, and strengthening national integration in the region.
Republic Day celebrations in Srinagar included march pasts by NCC cadets and school students, cultural performances, and patriotic songs, showcasing the region’s rich heritage and the enthusiasm of its youth. LG Manoj Sinha emphasized the importance of citizens’ participation in nation-building and the role of Jammu and Kashmir in India’s democratic and developmental journey.
The tricolour unfurling at Maulana Azad Stadium symbolized the pride, resilience, and progressive spirit of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, echoing the broader theme of “Naya Kashmir, Badalta Kashmir”.
