Srinagar, January 16,2026-The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Thursday declared the results of the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations for the academic year 2026, recording an overall strong performance with girls outperforming boys across streams.
In a remarkable achievement, Ansa Shafi emerged as the Class 10 topper, securing a perfect score of 500 marks, setting a new benchmark of academic excellence. The results also highlighted the continued academic dominance of girls, particularly in the Kashmir division.
According to the official figures released by JKBOSE, the overall pass percentage for Class 10 stood at 85.03 per cent, while Class 12 recorded a pass percentage of 84 per cent. Education officials said the results reflect improved academic outcomes and sustained efforts by students, teachers and parents despite challenges faced during the academic session.
Top positions in both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations were largely dominated by girl students, underlining their consistent performance and dedication. JKBOSE officials congratulated all successful candidates and encouraged them to pursue higher education and skill-oriented courses aligned with their interests.
The Board also advised students to check their detailed marksheets through official JKBOSE platforms and follow prescribed procedures for re-evaluation or supplementary examinations, if required.
Education stakeholders hailed the results as a positive sign for the school education system in Jammu and Kashmir, noting that improved pass percentages and outstanding individual performances reflect growing academic awareness and competitiveness among students.
