Srinagar, January 13, 2026: In a significant move to bolster internal security, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has dismissed five government employees for alleged connections with banned terrorist organisations, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The dismissals were carried out under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India, which allows termination of a government employee without a formal inquiry if it is deemed necessary in the interest of national security. The decision followed intelligence inputs and detailed security assessments indicating the employees’ involvement in activities prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India.
Authorities said the employees, working across different government departments, were allegedly in contact with members of proscribed terror outfits active in the region. Investigations suggested that they misused official positions to support or facilitate anti-national activities.
A senior official emphasised that this action sends a strong signal: “Those entrusted with public service cannot undermine national security. Zero tolerance will be maintained against anyone supporting terrorist activities within government machinery.”
This move is part of a broader strategy by the Jammu and Kashmir administration to identify and remove elements with extremist links from public institutions. Security agencies have stepped up monitoring and verification processes across departments to prevent infiltration by such elements.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has intensified efforts to remove overground workers and terrorists embedded within government services. In this latest crackdown, the following employees were dismissed:
- Mohd Ishfaq, Teacher
- Tariq Ahmad Shah, Laboratory Technician
- Bashir Ahmad Mir, Assistant Lineman
- Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Field Worker, Forest Department
- Mohd Yousf, Driver, Health Department
Investigations revealed that these individuals were allegedly linked to terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, drawing government salaries while secretly advancing terrorist agendas.
The dismissals, executed under Article 311(2)(c), underline the administration’s commitment to maintaining national security and safeguarding the integrity of public institutions.
