Srinagar, January 6,2026- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday unveiled the 2026 Tourism Calendar and the JKCCC Calendar, marking another step towards strengthening tourism promotion and infrastructure in the Union Territory.
During the event, the Chief Minister also launched the official Tourism Kashmir website, aimed at providing tourists with comprehensive information on destinations, travel facilities, events, and tourism-related services across Jammu and Kashmir. The digital platform is expected to enhance the region’s visibility and improve ease of access for domestic and international travellers.
In addition, CM Omar Abdullah launched skiing courses to promote winter sports and skill development among youth, particularly in snow-bound tourist destinations. The initiative is part of broader efforts to position Jammu and Kashmir as a global hub for adventure and winter tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that tourism remains a key pillar of Jammu and Kashmir’s economy and emphasised the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, digital outreach, and capacity building. He added that initiatives like calendars, digital platforms, and professional training programmes would help showcase the region’s tourism potential year-round.
Officials from the tourism department and allied organisations were present at the launch event, highlighting ongoing efforts to diversify tourism offerings and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.
