Srinagar, January 5,2026-Infrastructure development across Jammu and Kashmir has gained fresh momentum under the PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) initiative, with Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo emphasising the administration’s commitment to fast-tracking key projects and ensuring timely execution.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo assessed the progress of major infrastructure works being monitored under the PRAGATI platform. The initiative, launched to enhance coordination between the Centre and States, has played a crucial role in resolving inter-departmental bottlenecks and expediting long-pending projects in the Union Territory.
Dulloo highlighted that PRAGATI has enabled closer monitoring of critical sectors such as road connectivity, power infrastructure, water supply, health facilities, and urban development. He stressed that improved infrastructure is essential for boosting economic growth, attracting investment, and improving the quality of life for residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Secretary directed concerned departments to maintain strict timelines and ensure quality standards while executing projects. He also underlined the importance of transparent governance, effective fund utilization, and regular progress reporting to achieve the intended outcomes.
Officials informed the meeting that several strategic projects, including highways, bridges, power transmission lines, and public service infrastructure, have shown significant progress due to interventions made through the PRAGATI framework.
Reiterating the administration’s development vision, Atal Dulloo stated that infrastructure growth remains a top priority and that PRAGATI will continue to serve as a key mechanism for driving accountable and result-oriented governance in Jammu and Kashmir.
