Kashmir,January 4,2026-Mission YUVA (Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan), the flagship self-employment and entrepreneurship initiative of the Jammu and Kashmir government, has witnessed an encouraging response with over 1.59 lakh registrations recorded across the Union Territory so far.
The strong participation reflects growing enthusiasm among the youth to explore entrepreneurship, self-employment, and skill-based livelihood opportunities. Mission YUVA aims to empower young aspirants by providing financial assistance, skill development, mentoring, and market linkages to help them establish sustainable enterprises.
Officials said that registrations have been received from both urban and rural areas, covering sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, tourism, services, and small-scale industries. The initiative is designed to tap local potential, promote innovation, and reduce unemployment by encouraging youth-led businesses.
Under the mission, eligible beneficiaries are being guided through awareness programmes, capacity-building workshops, and handholding support to convert ideas into viable business ventures. The government has reiterated its commitment to fast-track approvals and ensure timely disbursal of benefits.
Mission YUVA is emerging as a key pillar of Jammu and Kashmir’s employment generation strategy, contributing to economic growth while fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among the youth.
