Srinagar, January 1,2026- The 10th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Srinagar, on Tuesday organised the opening ceremony of a 31-day Skill Development Training Programme aimed at empowering 50 local youths from across the Kashmir Valley.
The initiative is part of SSB’s ongoing efforts to promote youth engagement, skill enhancement, and employment-oriented training in the region. The programme is designed to equip participants with practical skills, vocational knowledge, and soft skills that can enhance their employability and support self-reliance.
Speaking on the occasion, SSB officials said such programmes play a crucial role in mainstreaming youth, preventing social vulnerability, and strengthening community-police relations. The trainees will receive hands-on training under experienced instructors, along with guidance on career opportunities and entrepreneurship.
The event witnessed participation from SSB officers, trainers, and local representatives, who encouraged the youth to make the most of the opportunity and contribute positively to society.
The 31-day training programme will conclude with a valedictory function, where participants will be awarded certificates, enabling them to pursue employment or self-employment opportunities.
The initiative reflects the SSB’s commitment to nation-building through skill development and fostering peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
