Jammu, December 30,2025-Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Monday hoisted the Tricolour and inaugurated the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Flag Point in Jammu to mark the 82nd anniversary of Netaji’s historic hoisting of the Indian National Flag on Indian soil in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The solemn ceremony paid tribute to the indomitable spirit, courage, and patriotism of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, whose leadership of the Indian National Army (INA) and unwavering commitment to India’s freedom struggle continue to inspire generations.

Speaking on the occasion, LG Manoj Sinha said that Netaji’s life and ideals remain a guiding force for the nation. He emphasised that the inauguration of the Flag Point is a symbolic reminder of India’s long and arduous journey towards freedom and the sacrifices made by countless revolutionaries under Netaji’s leadership.
“The Tricolour is not just a flag; it is a symbol of our unity, sovereignty, and the supreme sacrifices of our freedom fighters. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s contribution to India’s independence movement is unparalleled, and it is our collective duty to preserve and pass on his legacy to the younger generation,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The newly inaugurated Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Flag Point is envisioned as a site of national pride and remembrance, aimed at instilling patriotic values and awareness about India’s freedom movement among citizens, especially the youth.
The event witnessed the presence of senior civil and police officials, representatives from various organisations, and citizens who gathered to pay homage to the legendary leader and reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of freedom, unity, and nation-building.
