J&K High Court bar association Jammu meets LG Manoj Sinha

Jammu, December 20,2025-A delegation of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu, led by its President Advocate K. Nirmal Kotwal, today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and discussed several important issues concerning the legal fraternity in the Union Territory.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted matters related to the Jammu & Kashmir Tenancy Act, 2025, and sought clarity on provisions impacting stakeholders and legal practitioners. The members also raised concerns regarding the shifting of traffic courts, emphasizing the need for convenient access for advocates and litigants.

The delegation further urged the administration to consider the establishment of a Lawyers’ Colony in Jammu, stating that such a facility would address long-standing residential needs of advocates and contribute to their welfare and professional efficiency.

Apart from these key issues, the Bar Association representatives discussed various welfare-related concerns of the legal fraternity, stressing the importance of infrastructure development and institutional support to strengthen the justice delivery system.

The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that the issues raised would be examined sympathetically in accordance with the law and administrative feasibility.

The interaction reflected the administration’s continued engagement with stakeholders from the legal community to address their concerns and improve institutional functioning in Jammu and Kashmir.
