Udhampur, December 19,2025-Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anil Manhas on Thursday confirmed that Udhampur district is fully prepared for the upcoming Pulse Polio Immunisation (PPI) drive, aimed at ensuring complete protection of children against polio and achieving a polio-free Udhampur.
Dr. Manhas said the three-day immunisation campaign will commence on December 21 with booth-level vaccination activities across the district. This will be followed by door-to-door immunisation sweeps on December 22 and 23 to ensure that no child is left out.
He informed that adequate arrangements have been put in place, including deployment of trained vaccination teams, availability of polio vaccines, and proper monitoring mechanisms. Special focus will be given to high-risk and hard-to-reach areas to ensure maximum coverage.
Urging parents and guardians to actively participate, the CMO appealed to them to bring children below five years of age to the nearest polio booth for administering the life-saving polio drops. “Public cooperation is crucial to make this campaign successful and to safeguard children from polio,” he said.
Health officials have also been directed to conduct awareness activities and coordinate with local authorities, volunteers, and community leaders to enhance outreach during the drive.
The Pulse Polio campaign is part of the national effort to eradicate polio and strengthen routine immunization across the country.
