Rajouri, December 18,2025– In a significant development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Bathuni Bridge on the Rajouri–Jammu–Poonch Highway is nearing completion. The bridge, a critical infrastructure project in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, is set to enhance regional connectivity and facilitate smoother transportation for residents and strategic movement.
Officials confirmed that blacktopping work on the bridge is progressing rapidly, with teams working around the clock to ensure timely completion. Once operational, the Bathuni Bridge will significantly reduce travel time between Rajouri, Jammu, and Poonch, improving trade, tourism, and access to essential services.
The project forms part of the broader initiative by the Government of India to strengthen infrastructure in border districts, reinforcing both economic development and strategic mobility. Authorities have emphasized that enhanced road networks and bridges like Bathuni will contribute to socio-economic growth while ensuring improved connectivity in remote and hilly areas.
Residents of Rajouri and nearby districts have welcomed the development, noting that the bridge will provide safer and faster travel, particularly during adverse weather conditions. The project also aligns with ongoing government efforts to modernize highways and bridges in Jammu and Kashmir, reinforcing the region’s strategic and developmental priorities.
