Jammu and Kashmir, 16 December 2025: The Indian Army achieved a significant logistics milestone on 16 December 2025 with the successful induction of tanks and artillery guns into the Kashmir Valley via a Military Special Train.
As part of the validation exercise, tanks, artillery guns, and dozers were efficiently moved from the Jammu Region to Anantnag, Kashmir, showcasing the Army’s enhanced mobility and logistical capability. The operation demonstrated the force’s readiness to rapidly deploy mechanised units and heavy weaponry across the region.
This critical exercise was executed in close coordination with @RailMinIndia, highlighting the strategic importance of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project in enabling swift logistics build-up and reinforcing operational preparedness along the Northern Borders.
ADG PI – Indian Army emphasised that the successful movement of tanks and artillery through the rail network marks a transformative step in military logistics, further strengthening India’s defense infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir.
