Jammu, December 13,2025-Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting on the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in Jammu and Kashmir, stressing the need for optimum stocking of LPG cylinders ahead of the winter season and faster rollout of the extended PMUY benefits.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed Deputy Commissioners and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to ensure 100 per cent e-KYC compliance of beneficiaries and to intensify enrolment under the extended PMUY scheme. He also emphasised strengthening last-mile delivery mechanisms to guarantee uninterrupted LPG supply, particularly in remote and snow-bound areas.
Atal Dulloo underlined the importance of coordination between district administrations and OMCs to maintain adequate buffer stocks during winter, ensuring that no eligible household faces disruption in cooking fuel supply. He called for proactive planning and real-time monitoring to address logistical challenges across the Union Territory.
Officials informed the meeting about the current status of LPG connections, e-KYC verification, and distribution infrastructure in J&K. The Chief Secretary urged all stakeholders to expedite pending processes and enhance outreach to cover remaining eligible beneficiaries.
The review meeting concluded with directions to ensure timely implementation of PM Ujjwala Yojana objectives, reinforcing the government’s commitment to providing clean cooking fuel and improving the quality of life for women from economically weaker sections.
