Kathua, December 8,2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today underscored the power of unity, stating that collective action can overcome even the most unconquerable challenges, a reality the region witnessed during the crisis in August. He reiterated that the welfare of the people of Jammu & Kashmir is the administration’s top priority, affirming the government’s commitment to serving citizens and fulfilling their aspirations.
LG Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone for 344 new houses in Kathua, meant for families whose homes were completely destroyed during the recent natural calamity. These newly planned three-bedroom houses will be equipped with modern amenities and essential facilities, ensuring safe, dignified, and resilient living conditions for the affected families.
In a notable gesture of support, the entire construction cost of the houses will be borne by HRDS-India, a respected NGO engaged in humanitarian development. The organization will oversee the construction, ensure quality infrastructure, and provide necessary facilities for homeowners, expediting rehabilitation efforts in the district.
Officials highlighted that this initiative marks a significant step toward restoring stability and rebuilding the lives of disaster-affected residents. The administration aims to complete the project within a defined timeframe to ensure early resettlement.
LG Manoj Sinha reaffirmed the government’s unwavering resolve to stand with the people of J&K, stating that the administration will continue to support all efforts aimed at recovery, resilience, and holistic community development.
