Rajouri,December 9,2025 : Centrally sponsored schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), and PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana are making a visible impact in remote areas like Kalakote, improving the quality of life for residents.
Under PMAY, numerous families in the region have received new pucca houses, providing them with secure and dignified living conditions. Meanwhile, MGNREGA continues to ensure work opportunities, offering employment and income stability for rural households. The PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana further supports farmers and landowners by delivering direct financial assistance, helping sustain livelihoods and agricultural productivity.
Officials stated that the implementation of these schemes is transforming remote villages, enabling residents to access essential services, improve infrastructure, and achieve economic empowerment. Locals have welcomed the initiatives, noting a significant improvement in living standards, employment prospects, and financial security.
The government emphasised its commitment to extending these programs to all corners of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that development reaches even the most remote and underserved areas.
