J&K LG Manoj Sinha expresses gratitude for inauguration of BRO projects

Jammu, December 7,2025 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday hailed the inauguration of 22 vital Border Roads Organisation (BRO) projects in Jammu & Kashmir, calling them a major step toward strengthening India’s border infrastructure, enhancing operational readiness, and accelerating socio-economic growth across the region.

The projects, executed under Project BEACON and Project SAMPARK, are spread across some of the most challenging terrains of the Union Territory. According to officials, these new roads, bridges, and upgraded connectivity corridors will ensure year-round access to remote and strategic locations, significantly improving the mobility of defence forces.

LG Sinha said the projects represent a powerful boost to India’s national security architecture. “These national security infrastructure projects in the most complex terrains will enhance military mobility and ensure quicker operational response. At the same time, they will make a notable contribution to the development of local communities who depend on reliable connectivity for livelihood and essential services,” he noted.

Expressing gratitude to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who inaugurated the projects earlier in the day, Sinha praised the BRO’s commitment to completing infrastructure tasks under harsh weather and geographic conditions.

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continued focus on border infrastructure development. “My heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for significantly strengthening border infrastructure and ensuring the socio-economic upliftment of our border areas,” the LG said.

Officials added that the new BRO projects are expected to improve access to remote villages, boost trade potential, enhance tourism prospects, and serve as a lifeline for communities living along the border.

The inauguration marks yet another milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to improve strategic connectivity and uplift the border population in Jammu & Kashmir.
