Srinagar, December 6,2025: The Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Kashmir today inaugurated a special sale of trainee products at Kashmir Haat, Srinagar, highlighting the creative skills of emerging artisans.
The two-day showcase (December 5–6) was formally opened by Director Mussarat Zia and features a wide array of handcrafted items produced by trainees from various handicraft and handloom centres across the region. The event aims to promote local craftsmanship, provide exposure to budding artisans, and celebrate Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage.
Visitors can explore an assortment of products including handwoven textiles, embroidered shawls, woodcraft, papier-mâché items, and other traditional handicrafts. The initiative is designed to support trainees in gaining market experience while encouraging the preservation and promotion of Kashmiri handicrafts.
Officials emphasised that such events not only boost local artisans’ income but also strengthen the cultural identity of the region by bringing handcrafted artistry to a wider audience.
