Srinagar, November 24, 2025 — The prolonged dry spell across Jammu & Kashmir is expected to continue till December 10, according to the latest meteorological forecast. With no major precipitation predicted over the next two weeks, weather officials have cautioned that nights will become colder as temperatures are likely to dip further by 1–2°C across most parts of the Valley.
Shallow fog conditions persisted across Kashmir on Monday morning, reducing visibility in several areas and affecting early travel. The absence of western disturbances is contributing to the extended dry phase, which has also led to a rise in pollution levels and increased chances of respiratory discomfort in vulnerable groups.
Residents have been advised to brace for colder mornings and evenings, as minimum temperatures continue their downward trend. The MeT department noted that while foggy conditions may vary across districts, the overall dry and chilly pattern is expected to dominate until the second week of December.
