Kashmir, November 21,2025-The Jammu & Kashmir Meteorological Department has forecast light snow across parts of the Kashmir Valley on December 2–3, signalling a possible shift towards colder winter conditions. According to the MeT Department, higher reaches of the Valley are expected to receive light snowfall, while plains may witness cloudy weather, a dip in temperatures, and isolated precipitation.
Officials said a weak Western Disturbance is likely to affect J&K weather, bringing chances of snow in Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Gurez, Kupwara, Bandipora, and other upper reaches. The department added that there are no major weather disruptions expected and that overall conditions will remain stable.
The MeT has advised travellers and tourists heading to hill stations to stay updated on the latest weather advisory and road status, as slippery surfaces may occur in snow-prone areas. The Valley has already been experiencing colder nights, with temperatures dropping below normal at several stations.
