Kashmir Ahead

J&K LG Manoj Sinha hails J&K’s No.1 ‘Vande Mataram’ rank

Srinagar, November 15,2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the valedictory ceremony of the first phase of the 150th year commemoration of ‘Vande Mataram’, celebrating one of India’s most powerful symbols of patriotism and national unity.

Expressing pride in the Union Territory’s commitment, the LG announced that Jammu & Kashmir has secured the 1st rank nationally in overall participation, marking a remarkable achievement in public engagement and youth involvement. “Today, more than 20,000 students and citizens participated, showing a strong indication of national pride,” he said.

Highlighting the emotional and historical significance of the song, LG Sinha noted, “Every Indian heart has an inner song, and that is Vande Mataram. During the freedom struggle, when Vande Mataram was sung by someone, thousands of hearts hummed it back. That powerful bond must inspire today’s young generation to dedicate themselves to Maa Bharti.”

The LG emphasised the enduring legacy of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, whose ideas and ideals shaped India’s freedom movement. He urged the youth to draw strength from the patriotic spirit embedded in ‘Vande Mataram’ and contribute to building a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous Jammu & Kashmir.

“We must demonstrate the courage, wisdom, and conviction that Bankim Chandra expected from every citizen. With collective resolve, we can take J&K UT forward on the path of development and harmony,” he added.

The event concluded with renewed calls to foster national pride, cultural heritage, and youth-driven progress across the Union Territory.
