Srinagar, November 10,2025: In a landmark achievement, the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has made history with its pioneering ‘Wheels to Wings’ initiative, symbolising innovation, youth empowerment, and technological advancement in Jammu and Kashmir.
The unique project, conceptualised and executed by the students and faculty of SKUAST-K, showcases the university’s commitment to integrating research, innovation, and practical skill development. The initiative is aimed at transforming creative ideas into real-world applications — literally taking innovation from ‘wheels to wings’.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, said that the initiative reflects the vision of transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a hub of technological excellence and innovation-led growth. “Our students are proving that innovation knows no boundaries. ‘Wheels to Wings’ is not just a project — it’s a message that youth in Kashmir can dream, design, and deliver at a global level,” he added.
The event witnessed participation from students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and government representatives, all lauding the university’s efforts to promote start-up culture, research-driven learning, and self-reliance in technology.
With projects like ‘Wheels to Wings,’ SKUAST-Kashmir continues to lead innovation in the agricultural and scientific education sectors, setting benchmarks for universities across the country.
