Gulmarg, November 5,2025:The world-famous ski resort Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district transformed into a white wonderland after receiving a fresh spell of snowfall, drawing large numbers of tourists and adventure lovers to the picturesque valley.
The early morning snow covered the meadows, pine trees, and rooftops in a pristine white blanket, creating breathtaking views that captivated both locals and visitors. Excited tourists could be seen enjoying snowball fights, capturing photos, and taking Gondola rides to Kongdoori and Affarwat to witness panoramic views of the snow-clad Pir Panjal range.
Tourists described the experience as “magical and unforgettable”, with many saying they had been waiting eagerly for the season’s first snowfall. The Tourism Department officials said the fresh snow has boosted tourist footfall and signalled a promising start to the winter tourism and skiing season.
Local hoteliers and traders also expressed optimism, expecting the snowfall to bring renewed energy to the region’s hospitality and tourism sectors. Authorities have been monitoring road connectivity to ensure smooth movement of vehicles, while snow clearance operations were promptly carried out on key routes.
Gulmarg, known as the crown of Kashmir tourism, attracts thousands of visitors every winter for skiing, snowboarding, and cable car rides. The latest snowfall has once again reaffirmed its status as one of India’s premier winter destinations.
