Poonch, November 3,2025: Thousands of devotees thronged the sacred premises of Shriomani Dera Nangali Sahib in Poonch to pay homage to Mahant Bachiter Singh Ji on his 34th death anniversary. The atmosphere was filled with devotion as prayers, hymns, and community service marked the occasion in remembrance of the revered Sikh saint, scholar, and social reformer.
Mahant Bachiter Singh Ji, remembered as the Chief Guardian of Gurdwara Nangali Sahib, played a pivotal role in its reconstruction after 1947 and laid the foundation of numerous educational institutions, including an Engineering College and a B.Ed. College, to uplift the youth through education and moral values.
Addressing the gathering, Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji reflected on the late Mahant’s legacy of selfless service, spiritual leadership, and commitment to social harmony. “Mahant Bachiter Singh Ji’s life was a beacon of faith, education, and reform — he devoted himself entirely to the betterment of society and the preservation of Sikh heritage,” he said.
Devotees from across Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, and other regions participated in the event, offering prayers and langar sewa (community kitchen) in memory of the saint. The anniversary served as a reminder of Mahant Bachiter Singh Ji’s enduring contribution to spiritual enlightenment, education, and community development.
