DC Baramulla spearheads SRO-43 review for militancy-hit families

Baramulla, October 8, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired a District Level Screening-cum-Coordination Committee (DLSCC) meeting today to evaluate 31 SRO-43 cases concerning compassionate appointments for next-of-kin (NoKs) of civilians and armed forces personnel killed in militancy-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to providing timely relief to terror-affected families. The committee meticulously reviewed the applications, with the following outcomes:

  • 10 cases approved for immediate job allocations under the SRO-43 scheme.
  • 11 cases sent for reverification to ensure eligibility, with a directive for swift completion.
  • 10 cases rejected based on established guidelines, with reasons communicated transparently to applicants.

DC Baramulla emphasized the need for “speedy and transparent disposal” of such cases to support militancy-affected families, urging officers to prioritize follow-ups and maintain thorough documentation. This aligns with the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s broader efforts to implement SRO-43, which facilitates employment for NoKs of victims of terrorism and militancy. The meeting involved officials from revenue, police, and social welfare departments. Approved cases will proceed for final sanction, while reverification is slated for completion within two weeks. This follows Baramulla’s earlier efforts this year, where over 30 cases were approved, and Rs. 94 lakh in ex-gratia relief was disbursed. The administration remains focused on rehabilitation through schemes like CSACV, ensuring comprehensive support for families impacted by militancy.
