Jammu, October 4,2025: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo chaired a high-level meeting to review the comprehensive action plan for skill development in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was aimed at formulating strategies to enhance employability, promote entrepreneurship, and align skill training programmes with the emerging demands of various industries.
During the review, the Chief Secretary J&K emphasised the need for convergence of efforts across government departments, industry stakeholders, and training institutions to create a robust ecosystem for skill enhancement. He directed officials to ensure that skill development programmes are inclusive, catering to youth from rural as well as urban areas, with special focus on women empowerment and tribal communities.
Atal Dulloo also highlighted the importance of linking skill training with job opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in sectors like tourism, agriculture, handicrafts, information technology, and renewable energy. He stressed that skill development initiatives should not only focus on employability but also encourage entrepreneurship and start-up culture among the youth.
The meeting discussed sector-specific strategies, identification of priority areas, integration of skill development with education, and the role of private industry in providing on-the-job training. Officials were asked to ensure timely implementation of the J&K Skill Development Action Plan 2025 with measurable targets and monitoring mechanisms.
The comprehensive approach is expected to bridge the skill gap, empower the youth, and contribute significantly to the economic growth and employment generation in Jammu and Kashmir.
